The Place Where Bells Ring ~

~ is here to remind people of how to care for our dead, and that we too will become ancestors - the purpose that incites in us to risk everything for what is holy; to discern through the kaleidoscope of trauma and death-phobic, supremacist forces what truly matters most, and that this knowing is worth fully living for, fighting for, grieving for, suffering for, praising for, and unabashedly loving for.

In this spirit, we are excited to announce~

Our first gathering bringing The Place Where Bells Ring fully alive in the world. This gathering will serve as a golden thread that continues to feed into the wider web and movement around reclaiming and remembering our belonging with death and the care we bring to that threshold.

This workshop

~ braids together ancestral and contemporary home funeral skills, the creation of a community deathcare kit that holds everything needed for the autonomous care of our beloved dead, immersive sound and story experiences pertaining to dying and grief, and co-created ritual integrating our time together.

Holding the nuances of how deathcare has been exploited by white supremacist systems, and uplifting the intersections of cultural experience and knowledge, this container will be co-created in truthtelling. All of this will be in rhythm with a collaboratively woven willow casket that will take form over the three days and become a part of the death care kit.
